Plenty of talented players from around the world assembled their own teams to compete for the $1 million prize this past TST, with Newtown Pride FC coming out on top. Do you have what it takes to field the next winning team of TST 2024?
A 32-team, $1 million, open application, winner-take-all tournament that will electrify the soccer world
Surrounded by soccer fans in a festival atmosphere, 32 teams competed in a "World Cup style" format consisting of group play and single elimination knockout rounds in their quest for $1 million.
In 2020, TBT fans and soccer players Mike Volk and Henry Tembon reached out to TBT Founder Jon Mugar and suggested applying TBT’s high stakes, open-to-all model to soccer.
Together with Alecko Eskandarian and TBT co-founder Dan Friel, they agreed that a 7v7 world championship would be unparalleled in its intensity, competitiveness, and skill level. And The Soccer Tournament (TST) was born.
More About TBT Enterprises
TBT Enterprises is an independent voice in the sports world that challenges the status quo by putting high stakes competition first. TST represents its first non-basketball event. It will feature teams representing any number of groups, from professional clubs, to celebrity-backed squads, to charities, to college alumni sides, to supporter groups. Any team may apply. 32 teams will be selected to compete in the first year. The winner will get $1 million. Second place will get $0.
