How they Fared in TBT 2016

Round 2: Johnson carries City of Gods again in defeat of Talladega Knights

DerMarr Johnson sank 6-of-11 3-point attempts and scored 27 points to lift City of Gods to a 94-85 victory over Talladega Knights on Sunday, propelling his team to the Super 16. After trailing by 10 points at the half, Talladega Knights made things interesting with a strong push in the second half's first 10 minutes to bring the game to a virtual gridlock. But the City of Gods balanced attack––five players scored in double figures, and the team went 13-of-29 from beyond the arc––proved too strong to overcome. Chris Wright added 17 points, five assists, and five rebounds for the victors. Manny Quezada scored 27 points for Talladega Knights.

Round 1: Quezada leads Talladega Knights past Team Fancy

Talladega Knights sank seven of its eight free throw attempts with less than a minute remaining to hold on for a 108-105 victory over Team Fancy on Saturday in Philadelphia. Team Fancy's Shane Gibson, who finished with 28 points and seven 3-pointers, hit a triple from the left corner to cut the deficit to one, 101-100, with exactly 60 seconds left on the clock. But, trailing 106-104 with 7.7 ticks to go, he split a pair of free throws that could have knotted the score. Manny Quezada of Talladega Knights made all seven of his 3-point attempts and finished with 32 points and five assists, both game highs. Kevin Parrom paced Team Fancy with 30 points, including 18 from beyond the arc.
