From fan to GM, Bryan Hurley made quite the jump in TBT 2015. After attending the innaugural tournament in 2014 as a supporter of Team Barstool, the former Bowdoin College point guard decided to start a team of his own with his older brother Chris. Originally contemplating playing themselves, the brothers recruited scores of talent, and retreated to more of a traditional GM/coaching role. North of the border treated HBC well last summer, with the team adding guys like Stefan Bonneau, Darren Duncan, Quinnel Brown and Chris Commons, who were all members of the 2014 Windsor Express team who won the NBL championship.

After receiving a popularity bye, the 11 seed in the South region outscored AMR by nine points in both the first and second half, beating the 8 seed 102-84. Brown scored a game-high 29 in the win, and received support from fellow NBL star Darin Mency (21 points) as well as Bonneau (13) and Duncan (12). That set the squad up for a matchup with the PrimeTime Players, who were clicking on all cylinders after taking down the 1 seed, TeamBDB, just one day prior. In what turned out to be much more of a defensive battle than their game against AMR, HBC couldn't find the same offensive flow, and were upended 66-59.
