House of 'Paign is back for year 2

From a 16-seed to advancing to the Quarterfinals, there's no doubt that House of ‘Paign overshot "expert" expectations last summer.

Much like Illinois started off their college basketball season unranked in 2019-2020, the Illini alumni team started off the tournament as the underdog.

Illinois would finish the season ranked in the AP Top 25 and poised to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament before COVID-19 caused their season to be canceled

House of ‘Paign followed their lead.

After defeating War Tampa (Auburn alumni) by 20 points and upsetting the defending champion Carmen’s Crew (Ohio State alumni), House of ‘Paign established themselves as a TBT contender for years to come.

While chatting with Inside TBT, Malcolm Hill announced that they will be back for TBT 2021.

Two of the biggest pieces on last year's underdog squad were Andres Feliz and Mike Daum. Both guys found themselves on TBT’s All-Defense squad at the end of the tournament.

Feliz was a senior and a key player on last year’s Top 25 Illinois team. After his season was cut short, he turned to House of ‘Paign to continue hooping.

While standing only 6-foot-2, Feliz managed to lead TBT in rebounding, averaging 9.7 per game.

Not only did his gritty play endear the TBT fanbase, but also NBA and G-League big-wigs, according to Illinois coach Brad Underwood

Mike Daum, the seventh leading scorer in NCAA history, graduated from South Dakota State a year before playing for House of ‘Paign. Although he's not an alumni, it didn't take long for the Illinois community to adopt him as one of their own.

Affectionately nicknamed ‘The Dauminator,’ he quickly became an internet sensation, averaging 18.7 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Now, House of 'Paign will look to take the next big leap and bring a title home to Champaign.
