Devendorf, Boeheim’s Army Advance to Another Super 16

Eric Devendorf hopes this is the year that Boeheim’s Army can grab its first TBT title.

Reaching the Super 16 is nothing new for Eric Devendorf and Boeheim’s Army. The squad of former Orangemen has advanced out of the first weekend in all three years that it has competed in TBT.

On Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn, the streak was extended to four. Boeheim’s Army was able to down a talented Team Fancy, 60-55, in a defensive battle. Devendorf, now 31-years-old, contributed 12 points to the win.

While pleased with the victory, Devendorf knows there is work to be done. Boeheim’s Army -- the top seed in the Northeast Region -- reached the semifinals in #TBT2017 before being defeated at the hands of three-time reigning champions Overseas Elite. This year’s team is driven to dethrone the champs and claim its first TBT crown.

I talked with Devendorf postgame to find out what separates this team from past summers and what it will take to win the $2 million.
