The Overlooked is TBT's newest Cinderella team

For fans who love a good Cinderella story, we found you a new favorite TBT team.

On a recent episode of Inside TBT, former NBA point guard Isaiah Canaan revealed that The Overlooked, a Murray State alumni team, will apply for TBT 2021.

As a mid-major school from the Ohio Valley Conference, the Racers have made four NCAA tournament appearances in the past decade.

Most notably, in the 2018 tournament, the 12-seed Racers upset Marquette in the first round by nearly 20 points.

Basketball fans have become familiar with the Murray State program due to their ability to produce talent at the guard position.

In 2013, Canaan was drafted by the Houston Rockets with the 34th pick. Two years later, the Oklahoma City Thunder took Cameron Payne with the 14th pick.

And in the 2019 draft, future Rookie of the Year Ja Morant was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies second overall.

In a guard-heavy TBT, there is no doubt that The Overlooked will be a team to watch out for.

The alumni squad will feature Isaiah Canaan himself, as well as his former Murray State teammates Jarvis Williams, Donte Poole, and Jeffery Moss.

Also on the roster are Racers alumni Jonathan Stark and Shaq Buchanan, who both played with Ja Morant on the 2018 team that went to the NCAA tournament.
